Chad McQueen was an actor first and foremost, but his passion for auto racing and motorcycles ran deep.

As it did with the whole McQueen family, Chad founded McQueen Racing in 2010 and following his sad passing, the 63-year-old’s children Chase and Madison will continue to run the company in his memory.

Chad McQueen died on Wednesday at his ranch in Palm Desert, following organ failure after being injured in a fall in 2020 which he never managed to recover from.

In a statement on his Instagram, his children Chase and Madison said: “His remarkable journey as a loving father to us, along with his unwavering commitment to our mother, truly exemplified a life filled with love and dedication. His passion for racing not only highlighted his exceptional talent but also served as a way to honour his father’s legacy, a testament to the values instilled in him.

“He passed his passion, knowledge and dedication down to us, and we will continue not only his legacy but our grandfather’s as well. As a family, we need to navigate this difficult time, and we kindly ask for privacy as we remember and celebrate his extraordinary life.”

His dad Steve was also a keen car and motorcycle enthusiast and rode a Triumph Trophy TR6 in the movie The Great Escape. The bike was chosen because it was considered one of the most iconic motorcycles in film history.

When Chad introduced McQueen Racing in 2010, the actor who played the bully Dutch in the first two Karate Kid movies, a series of bikes became available including a Steve McQueen Desert Racer and Triumph Bonneville McQueen Racing Edition. Only 300 of the Steve McQueen Desert Racer bikes were made.

The Metisse Hammer MK3 motorcycles was then introduced, which can be seen in the movie, Man From U.N.C.L.E. The bike is a scrambler while there is also a Rickman Metisse MK5 Cafe Racer and Rickman Metisse MK5 Street Scrambler, both of which are only available in the US and Australia.
