Fans will be able to keep up with the Isle of Man TT races this year via WhatsApp thanks to a new broadcast infoline.

The new TT Infoline, as it’s called, will provide one-way text updates to people signed up for it throughout the 2024 TT fortnight and beyond.

Qualifying and race updates will be sent, as well as more practical information useful to people on the island such as road closure information and other general information about the event.

“The introduction of this new service will improve accessibility to information and enable efficient communication throughout the duration of the event as well as year-round,” the Isle of Man TT says.

The 2024 edition of the TT is set to get underway next week with practice beginning on 27 May. The event will run until 8 June when the Senior TT is scheduled to conclude this year’s Isle of Man TT.

Start lists have already been published, with John McGuinness set to lead the Superbike and Superstock fields away for the first time since 2022 when he celebrated his 100th start. In the Supertwin and Supersport classes, Paul Jordan will set off first, a road position he has not had before in his career.

Last year’s event saw Michael Dunlop surpass McGuinness’ 23 TT wins and move onto 25 total. One more for the rider who will start sixth in all classes at this year’s event will tie him with Joey Dunlop as the most successful rider at the TT in the event’s history.

Peter Hickman was the dominant force in the second half of race week last year, though, and will be looking to add to his current total of 13 wins this year, while 2018 Senior TT Dean Harrison will make his first TT starts for Honda.
