The 2021 Honda NC750X has been officially revealed, with the new bike gaining a fresh new look, revised electronics, and reduced weight being the key points to note.

2021 Honda NC750X review, specs, and details

Like the majority of the range, Honda saw 2021 and the incoming Euro5 regulations as the perfect time to give the NC750X a but of an update. This year’s changes may not be as mechanically widespread as those in 2014 (when the model swelled by 75cc), although, to fans of the bike, they might make more of a difference.

2021 Honda NC750X engine

  • 4 bhp more power – 58.8 bhp peak
  • 51 lb-ft with a broader mid-range spread
  • A2 licence compatible via ECU remap

The big news with the new NC is the introduction of a fly-by-wire throttle, and all the technological improvements the system brings. That, accompanied by a revised exhaust system and valve timing, ensures the 2021 model ensures an increase in peak power by 4 bhp to 58.8 bhp. Peak torque is also up, with the latest generation making 51lb-ft and having a broader spread of mid-range to boot.

As before, an A2 licence version of the bike will be available with dealers able to apply and remove the restriction via an ECU remap.

Electronics and equipment

  • Improved riding modes including User mode
  • Updated traction control with 3 levels of intervention
  • Improved DCT shifting schedules

The Ride-by-Wire system also brings with it other updates for the 2021 model, in the form of improved riding modes and traction control settings. The Honda Selectable Torque Control now features finer control and three levels of intervention, as opposed to two levels of the previous machines.

The electronic throttle also brings three riding modes to the party, including a User mode that allows the rider to customise the delivery.

For those opting for the DCT NC750X, the updated electronics will also tie a specific DCT shifting schedule, to a specified riding more – User allows the rider to specify the DCT and traction control to their liking.

Styling

  • Revised LED lighting and LED DRLs
  • Totally revamped styling
  • New windscreen

The most noticeable update for the latest generation bike comes in the form of updated styling. From any angle, the new model looks more sharp-suited and modern, featuring updated LED lighting throughout (now featuring LED DRLs) and a complete redesign of almost all of the bike's body panels. Honda is also claiming that the new upper and lower fairings also assist weather protection.
